Frequently Asked Questions

Dan and Jay built each home in the summers of 2021 and 2022. Both homes are located in Stowe Vermont, and are situated approximately 2+ miles before you arrive into downtown Stowe via Rt 100 from I-89.

• Scarlet Begonias: Is located just past The Fly Rod Shop/Moscow Road on Sky Acres Drive.
• Sugar Magnolia: Is located near the Stowe Tennis Courts/Stowe High School/Trapp Family Lodge off Barrows Road. 

Both properties sit on approximately 5 acres of wooded land. There is ample space for 5 vehicles. And if you have more, you can find a way to park them.  

Each property comes fully equipped for your visit

• Kitchens have Samsung gas stoves/oven units, and overhead microwave ovens.
• There are large Samsung stainless steel, multi-door refrigerators with ice makers in each property. 
• Brand new silent Samsung dishwasher
• Top-loading Samsung washing machines and side-loading dryers are brand new.
• Coffee makers, and all the cooking and eating utensils, plates, wine glasses, mugs, cooking/pasta bowls, pots pans...we got it all.

We have everything you will need to prepare a feast. 

Each property has 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There are powder rooms as well. 

Each property comfortably sleeps 8 people. Each property has a bunk bed in one bedroom.

Both properties have large walk-out basements, that are warm and dry, complete with cozy radiant floor heating. They are also sunny and bright.

The walk-out basements have a media room for kids/teens to have their own space. Large TVs, cushy sofas and place to chillax.  

Each property uses state-of-the-art,  Rinnai Tankless, Gas, Hot Water Heaters.

Scarlet Begonias 

• Main Floor: Has full bathroom with a shower, and 1 powder room. There is no tub.
• Walk-Out Basement:  There is one full bathroom with a shower.

Sugar Magnolia 

• Main Floor: Has 1 powder room on the main floor. 
• Second Floor: 1 full bathroom with a shower and 1 full bathroom with a tub/shower
• Walk Out Basement: There is 1 powder room.    

Each property has an outdoor shed for bikes and skis/boards.  Both houses have front entryways that have generous mud rooms, with big pine benches, radiant heated stone floors, coat hooks, all weather boot strorage, and large walk-in closets to store and hang your gear. Please leave the skis in the shed. Thank you. 

Both properties are heated and cooled with mini-split heating & air conditioning units. Both houses have radiant floor heating, and baseboard heating and both have gas fireplaces/stoves, that put off excellent heat. 

Cable TV:

• We have Stowe Cable TV. It has all the terrestrial stations you would expect from the standard package. 
• Both houses are equipped with two 58" Samsung digital TV's, however, you just need to bring your subscription password for your Netflix, Youtube TV, Disney+, Paramount, etc.  
• The TV's allow you to download all the apps you and your teens desire. 
• The TV's also allow 'screen mirroring' from your own devices as well.
  

WIFI Internet:
Both properties WiFi have Eero WIFI repeaters and extenders, and speeds are excellent in all parts of each house and outdoors. 

Video Conference Calls:

We have personally used each house, for multiple video conference calls, simultaneously. 

There are no printers. 

Here is the bottom line: Activate your "WIFI call capacities" in each cell phone when in Vermont.  The terrain, and the carriers are not like you are used to. Welcome to Vermont!

We have brand new Graco Playyards Pack n Plays with sheets in each house in case you choose to leave yours at home. 

We also have plastic utensils, bowls, cups in each house to accommodate children as well. 

We have to respect every client like you.  And while we both have pets, it's just another variable that you yourself wouldn't want to affect your stay. So please, no pets.  Besides, when you return home, your pet always goes nuts to see you again. Please respect our place, as we would respect yours.  

There is no garages at our houses.  We snow plow whenever there is snow, but naturally, snow tires always help. 

We have always loved the Grateful Dead music and have enjoyed countless shows and great times immersed in their music.
